The tears of wine
The phenomenon of church windows

When you look closely at the glass in her sensual hand, you can see delicate streaks on the inside of the glass. The fine, mystically shimmering film rises up, defying gravity, and gently slides back down into the glass. What causes it? How can the phenomenon of the so-called church window be explained?
Church windows originate within the wine and are a sign of complexity in our favourite beverage. “Church windows" or "tears of wine" are created when the glass is swirled. The richer the wine content, the more prominent the film that forms on the inside of the glass bowl after swirling. If a wine moves down slowly on the side of the glass with clearly visible tears, you can look forward to a very special taste experience.
