Compared to conventional crystal glass, TRITAN® crystal glass is characterised by particularly high resistance to breakage, scratches and dishwasher use. At the same time, the glass remains permanently brilliant and clear – even with frequent use and numerous washes.
Another advantage: TRITAN® crystal glass is free from lead, cadmium and BPA. It therefore meets the highest food safety standards and offers a sustainable alternative to traditional lead crystal. Furthermore, the glasses are made largely from recycled glass sourced from the company’s own production, thereby conserving valuable resources.
The hand-blown ranges made from TRITAN® crystal glass are also generally dishwasher-safe. However, due to their particularly delicate and thin-walled construction, we recommend handling them with care when loading and unloading the dishwasher.
To ensure the longest possible lifespan, Zwiesel Glas recommends loading the glasses so that they stand securely, avoiding contact between the glasses and using a suitable dishwashing programme for glasses. Further care instructions can be found here.
As a result, the glasses are free from lead, cadmium and BPA and meet the highest food safety standards. At the same time, they offer the brilliant appearance and clear sound of high-quality crystal glass – without the drawbacks of traditional lead crystal.
Furthermore, TRITAN® crystal glass impresses with its greater impact resistance, lighter weight and significantly better dishwasher resistance than conventional lead crystal glass.
Full-bodied red wines benefit from larger bowls, which provide ample space for oxygen and bring out complex aromas to their best advantage. Elegant white wines reveal their freshness and aromatics particularly well in slightly smaller glass shapes. For sparkling wines, special glasses with an integrated effervesence point ensure that the carbonation is retained for longer and a fine, even perlage develops.
If you enjoy a variety of wine styles, Zwiesel Glas offers both grape-variety-specific wine glasses and versatile all-round glasses for a wide range of occasions – from a relaxed evening at home to a festively laid table.

Zwiesel Glas combines traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and continuously invests in innovation and its operations in Germany. The majority of production takes place directly in Zwiesel and meets the highest quality standards.
For selected mouth-blown ranges, Zwiesel Glas also has its own workshop in Hungary. Development, quality management and expertise in glassmaking remain closely linked to the Zwiesel site.
To ensure the longest possible lifespan, glasses should be arranged in the dishwasher so that they do not touch one another. A gentle wash cycle and a suitable washing-up liquid help to clean the glasses without damaging the material. After the wash cycle, it is advisable to open the dishwasher door as soon as possible to allow moisture to escape.
Particularly delicate, hand-blown glasses should be handled with care, despite being dishwasher-safe. When loading and unloading the dishwasher, as well as when polishing, it is advisable to handle them gently to avoid mechanical stress. You can find all care instructions here.
The engraving configurator guides you step by step through the design process. You can choose from various symbols – for example, for weddings, birthdays, Valentine’s Day or births – and personalise your glass with up to two lines of text. Finally, there are various fonts to choose from, ensuring your engraving perfectly suits your occasion. A preview shows you the result as you design.
Many popular ranges, such as Pure, Vivid Senses, Vervino and Tulip, are available with engraving in selected designs. Once you’ve added the engraving, you can still edit or remove it in your basket. Please note that engraved or personalised glasses are made to order for you and are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal or returns.
Would you like to find out more about our engraving options?
On the ‘Engraving’ page, you’ll find all the information on personalisation, the engraving configurator and an overview of the glasses available for engraving. There, you can easily customise your chosen glass.

A key component is the TRITAN® crystal glass, developed in-house. Around 60 per cent of each glass is made from recycled glass from the company’s own production. Production waste is completely remelted and reintroduced into the manufacturing process. This saves valuable raw materials and energy.
Since 2012, Zwiesel Glas has also been using innovative oxy-fuel technology. By using pure oxygen instead of ambient air, CO₂ emissions have been reduced by around 30 per cent and nitrogen oxide emissions by around 80 per cent. This is complemented by heat recovery, predominantly FSC®-certified packaging, biodegradable shipping materials and an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.
Thanks to these measures, Zwiesel Glas ranks among the most environmentally friendly crystal glass manufacturers in Europe, combining the highest product quality with the responsible use of resources.
