It is one of the most classic long drinks: the gin and tonic. The over 100 year old combination of gin and tonic water was considered the favorite drink of Queen Mum and has its origins in the British Empire.
Gin and tonic consist of ice cubes, gin, chilled tonic water and a lime. If you are a little more adventurous, you can also refine the long drink with sprigs of rosemary, chilli or peppercorns and much more. Cheers!
Classic Gin and Tonic
Before you make the Gin and Tonic, place the Gin and Tonic glass in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. That will keep the drink cold for longer. Fill the glass with ice cubes, Measure the gin and pour it over the ice. Slice a lime and squeeze the juice over the gin. You can also add the lime slice to the glass. Measure the tonic water and fill the glass slowly to avoid losing the carbonation too quickly. Gently mix the beverage to blend the gin, tonic water and lime juice. Depending on the type of gin, you can also flavour the drink with cucumber, mint, lemon or kumquats – there are no limits to your imagination and creativity.
