The Italian pomace brandy grappa has been famous for many years outside of Italy and is a popular drink. Grappa is traditionally served with coffee or dessert or after the final course as a digestif and is a tasty way of ending a meal.
The characteristic form of the grappa glasses is an instantly recognisable tulip shape, which is of course also available from Zwiesel Glas. The small bulbous grappa goblet sits on a narrow stem on a round base and has a tall chimney at the top. This guides the aromatic scents of the grappa up into the nose.
The spirit should be poured into a grappa glass 10-15 minutes before it is drunk. This allows the aromas to combine with each other and develop fully in the grappa glass. Salute!
